Hello is a blind, voice-only speed-dating night, operated by Mbani LLC, a Florida company (“Hello”, “we”). Chemistry comes first, so we keep what we collect small and use it to run your nights and make better matches. Here’s exactly what that means.
What we collect
- About you: your phone number, first name, birthday, gender, who you’d like to meet, the age range you’d like to meet, and your postal code.
- Your nights: who you were paired with, your keep or pass choices, and how each night ended.
- Your conversations: on event nights we create a written transcript of your voice dates. We don’t keep audio recordings of your dates.
- Your reveal photo: the selfie you add when you and a match keep each other.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Usage: how you use the site and app, device and browser details, and diagnostic data that helps us fix problems.
- Invites: if a friend invited you, or you invite one, we note the connection.
How we use it
- To verify your number, confirm you’re 18 or older, hold your seat and run each night.
- To match you. We listen to what you vibe on, using your choices and transcripts to set you up better next time. This includes AI tools that analyze conversations on our behalf.
- To make sure people who know each other are never paired together.
- To text you about your nights (see below), and to improve, secure and support Hello.
We don’t sell your personal information.
What other people see
Only what a blind date needs, unless you both choose each other. During a date, your partner sees your first name, your age, and a rough distance between you (like “8 km away”), estimated from the first three characters of your postal code. They never see your birthday, your postal code, your location, or your face. If you both keep each other all the way to the reveal, you’ll each see the other’s selfie and first name, and can choose to share your phone number. A VIP pass you share with a friend is an invite to Hello. It never includes your phone number.
Text messages
When you sign up with your number, we text you a verification code, your seat link, reminders before your nights, and your reveal link. You may also get occasional texts about upcoming nights. Message frequency varies, usually a few texts per night you attend. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Your mobile number and SMS consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.
Who we share it with
Only the services that help us run Hello, and only for that purpose: hosting and databases (Vercel, Cloudflare, Supabase), voice and transcription (Daily), texting (Twilio), payments (Stripe), analytics (PostHog), scheduling (Calendly) and AI providers that process conversations for us. We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
How long we keep it
While your account is active, and for as long as we need it to run and improve Hello. Ask us to delete your account and we’ll erase your personal information within 30 days, except what we must keep by law.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or opt out of texts. Email will@hello-tonight.com. Depending on where you live (including Canada and US states with privacy laws), you may have more rights, and we’ll honor them.
Age and safety
Hello is for adults 18 and over. We ask for your date of birth at sign-up, don’t accept anyone younger, and don’t knowingly collect information from minors. To report someone, see Safety on Hello in our Terms of Service. We protect your information with reasonable safeguards, though no system is perfectly secure.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above, and tell you by text for anything significant. Also see our Terms of Service.
